May Glossybox Review

So recently, I decided to re-activate my Glossybox subscription.
I was very un-satisfied with Aprils box, but I just received my May box, and boy was it amazing!

Like an early Birthday Present!

I was super excited to open this box, and I wasn't disappointed.  I personally have to claim that this is by far the best Glossybox I've received.

Read the reviews after the jump ^^

I did Chocolate Ice Cream Inspired nail art:
Almost good enough to eat ^^!
I created this nail art to enter into a competition on Instagram, which had a 'Summer Theme' ^^.

What you need:

- Pale Pink for base colour
- Matte Top Coat
- Brown polish
- Micro beads
OR

Dip dye.. Dip dye everywhere!

Hey guys!
Today, I bring you something slightly different... OK, a lot different!
I give you, dip dyes!
I'm aware that this trend is more or less a year old, but it's something that I've been trying to do for the past year ^^;;.
In this post, I will show you all my self-dip dye and the dip dye that I did for my friend.

First, my hair:
So I have been trying to dip dye my hair since November 2012, but all the semi-permanent dyes I purchased wouldn't take to my hair, even after I bleached my ends.  I feared that my hair would never accept a semi-permanent colour.
I was almost ready to give up, when I found a blessing from the hair gods.

I found La Riché Directions in my local Hair Superstore for £6.50, but I know a shopping centre near me that sells it for £4.50 (mwahahaha).
This stuff is AMAZING!
Seriously, it actually took to my hair!
The pot is big enough for a dip dye, but if you wanted to use this as an all-over dye, I'd buy several pots.

I recommend leaving this product to develop for at least 45 minutes, rather than the recommended 15 minutes.  The first time I used it, I left it for 15 minutes and it didn't take to my hair properly.
The second time I used it, I left it to develop for an hour, and the results were amazing!

I have had this colour in my hair for about a week now, and because I wash my hair 4 times a week, it has faded a lot.
Invest in dry shampoo and try to wash your hair less frequently in order to make the colour last longer.

I'm planning to go all-over lighter with my hair soon, so I think that I may also try the lavender dye from the same brand next.  It's more of a pinky-purple colour, so I look forward to seeing that!

Next, I want to share with you the dip dye I did for my friend:
Let's just all take a moment to admire how blooming vibrant this turned out!

The dye used for this is Schwarzkopf LIVE Color XXL in Shocking Pink.
It's a semi-permanent hair dye and I think she bought it for around £5.
We left this colour in to develop for around an hour, just to be sure it took to her hair.  It's safe to say that it did exactly that!
I'm really impressed with this product.  It looks so vibrant and shiny.
I did make a bit of a mistake though and clipped up a part of my friends bottom layer, which is quite obvious in the photo above, but seeing as she's a hairdresser, she was able to fix it by chipping into the layer to make it look less obvious.
This dye has only been in her hair for one day, so the fade time is unknown to us at the moment, but judging by how vibrant her ends are, I'm assuming it won't fade quickly.

I hope you have all enjoyed this post.  I know that this is a nail art blog by name, but I enjoy throwing up the random irrelevant post ^^.

Until next time... ♡

HowTo: Floor Tile Nails

Hey!
I recently created a pastel coloured, floor tile inspires mani when I was bored one day, so I thought I'd share it here, and also how I achieved this look!

The Finished Look!
In order to recreate this look, you will need:
- Base Coat
- Top Coat
- A base colour (I used white)
- 4 other colours of your choice
- Scissors
- Striping tape (alternatively, you could cut thin strips of scotch tape)
Optional:
- Tweezers to place/ remove the tape with ease

Step One:

Apply your base coat to protect your natural nail.  Once it's fully dry, apply a coat of your base colour.  If needed, apply a second once the first has dried.
Leave colour to fully dry before moving on to Step Two.

Step Two:

Once your base colour is fully dry, place your tape on your nail in the shape of a cross.
It helps to remember what order you placed them in.

Step Three:

Paint your four colours in the different sections, taking care to be careful and not overlap the colours into other sections.

Step Four:

Remove the tape in reverse order of what you laid them down in (told you it helps ^^), whilst the nail polish is still slightly wet.
Wait for the polish to dry then top it off with your favourite top coat!

Finished!

I hope that this tutorial is clear enough to understand, and if you try it out, make sure to @reply me (@fia93) on Instagram.  I wanna see the results ^^!

Products used:
- Avon - Gel Strength Base Coat
- Rimmel - White
- BarryM: Gelly Hi-Shine - Greenberry
- BarryM - Strawberry Ice Cream
- Models Own: Scented - Blueberry Pie
- Models Own: Scented - Grape Juice
- INM: Out The Door - Fast Drying Top Coat

Thank you for reading!

Phone Cover Review

Hey!
I want to share with you all a recent purchase of mine.

A few weeks ago, I upgraded to a new phone, and with a new phone comes to buying new phone covers.

I'll be the first to admit that I have an addiction to cute phone covers.  My collection for my last one was insanely large, and have now been passed onto my mother!

I've actually featured this cover on a previous blog post before, but it only just arrived today!
Tada!! ♡

My pastel unicorn case finally arrived!!
I felt like a child at Christmas when opening it!

I bought this cover for £4.95 from eBay.  The seller is based in Manchester, UK so I'm unsure if they ship worldwide, but I'll link the seller below for those who are interested.

The case itself is a clip on case for an iPhone 4S, but I'm certain you can get it for other models/makes.  It feels very durable and it fits my phone perfectly.  I mention this because I've had problems in the past with phone cases that don't fit my phone fully.

From what I can tell, the product is made from high quality material and the print has been screen-printed onto the case.

Although I highly trust this seller, as I've bought from them several times in the past, the only problem I ever encountered was the delivery time for this item took longer than usual (8 days longer).  This doesn't put me off buying from them again.

I'm extremely happy to finally own this case, and it is such a bargain for the quality you receive!

I hope you all enjoyed this post!
Until next time... ♡

Hand-Painted Falsies 2.0!

Hey!
So recently, I received my shipment of blank false nails from Hong Kong!
Unfortunately, due to my work load with College, I haven't been able to paint the sets, except for one.

I've mentioned in a previous post that I often paint false nails for my mother, so this is the latest design I re-created for her.
I used the picture below, provided by my mom, as inspiration for her nails, to create the false nails above.

*I couldn't find the original artist for this design as it was found on a Facebook Page*

My mom adored the results so much that she went ahead and applied them before they were fully dry, so I had to attend to the nails again :').

I'm sorry that this post is so short, but I'm writing it between coursework, so please be kind to me ^^.

Until Next Time...

Sparkling Pastel Rainbows!

Hey!
I've been stuck for nail inspiration lately, but I recently managed to created nail art to match my new iPhone Cover!

It's so cute!!
I was sorely tempted to paint the Unicorn as well but I chickened out and didn't bother.
I love how the design turned out though.

I used a fine art brush to create the stripes on the rainbows and topped the entire design with a fine glitter.

The polishes I used for this design are;
Avon - Gel Shine Base Coat
Models Own - Grape Juice
Barry M - Strawberry Ice Cream
Barry M - Peach Melba
Orly - Ancient Jade
China Glaze - Fairy Dust
INM - Out The Door Top Coat

I really enjoyed creating this design!

Until next time...

Monochrome Nails

Hey!
I decided to change my nail shape recently :)!

Lately, everyone seems to be rocking claw/ stiletto nail shapes, and as much as I love them, I couldn't have mine as sharp as I'd want them to be.
I'm usually a klutz and always end up slicing my face, etc with my nails ^^;
I decided to round my tips to avoid anymore injuries to myself!

I used RIO silver polish and an OPI mini black polish for the tips along with a black RIO nail art pen.
Since this manicure, I've neatened the shape up twice.
Until next time...
